Well it’s that time again to share a little more information about who I am and how I ended up in this beautiful place I call home. With limited space I’m going to give all of you the abridged version. I was born an Egyptian citizen in a compound(small town) in Saudi Arabia where I went through an American school curriculum from Kindergarten till 9th grade, was also a Boy Scout until 18 reaching a Life Scout rank. My father immigrated to Canada when I was very young and I was naturalized through him, making me a dual citizen. I went to private boarding schools in the United States and graduated with good marks. For my first semester of university I attended the University of Hartford in Connecticut until some unfortunate events made me decided to leave(you can ask me about it anytime), at which time I transferred to the American University in Cairo for mechanical engineering. In 2005 at age 20 I had the urge to live in Canada permanently, a feeling I had since taking my Oath of Citizenship as a little kid. So I moved to Toronto in April of 2005 and never looked back. Since then I have taken courses as an automotive service technician, in business administration, as well as chef training and have worked mostly blue collar jobs and even owned my own cafe at one point in time(Tea Dot Coffee). I’ve lived in Quebec, Alberta, and most recently for a couple months in Manitoba. In early 2016 I drew a line on a map and that line brought me to Tofino, I sold everything I owned and hitchhiked across the country over 17 days to be here, it was and will always be the best decision I have ever made in my entire life, no where on earth is there a place with as much passion and community feeling as there is in Tofino. Yes some of the walls are high but if you look you will always find someone here willing to give you a hand over it, that’s why I love it here. My life has had many interesting twists and turns and I would be more than happy to discuss what I’ve learned and experienced in my 34 years. 250-266-6866
